Walk MS - Dollar by Dollar

Dear Friend,

Your commitment to making Walk MS 2014 presented by Booz Allen Hamilton a successful event is admirable. Thank you for registering and for being a part of this community!

Many of you have already started fundraising and some are still working through fundraising ideas. No matter which group you fall into, we have great resources to support your initiatives! Remember, every dollar counts. See below for five quick ideas.

  1. Make your own contribution: Lead the way by making your pledge first.
  2. Participant Center: One of the great features of our website is the personal participant center where you can upload a photo of yourself or your team, write a little about your mission and reason for walking, and create a fundraising goal. From this site, you can send an email to everyone on your contact list and invite them to visit the website. You can also keep track of donations that you receive by entering them into your account.
  3. Matching gifts: Ask your company, or have your friends ask their employers, to match pledges.
  4. Promote Walk MS and your fundraising efforts: Have a message about Walk MS and a link to your personal page in your email signatures, on your Facebook page, and on your answering machine.
  5. House party: This is a sure-fire way to raise money. Collect donations and entertain at the same time. Create a theme (like a costume party) and have fun!

For more fundraising ideas and resources, visit our Walk MS Fundraising Ideas page and take a look at the Fundraising Toolkit and the Fundraising Resources! In particular, read through the Participant and Team Captain Guide and the Participant Center Guide.

If you haven't started fundraising, start now. The earlier you begin fundraising, the better off you'll be. You'll be able to go way beyond your goal and can focus on training. Ask anyone you can think of and then ask them again! Dollar by dollar, we are changing lives.

Sincerely,
